Our Process & Fee Structure
Life evolves. Let us help you prioritize what matters most.
At Copper Leaf Financial, we do our best to help you feel comfortable about the steps we’ll take to work toward both your financial and personal goals.
Our introduction can easily be done in-person or virtually. Getting to know each other and providing you with a detailed understanding of our process is an important first step in designing a roadmap to your financial and personal goals.
We listen to what’s important to you to clearly understand of your vision, values, priorities and goals & concerns. Collect financial information, investment statements, tax returns & legal documents, and assess the current overall state of your financial health.
Develop a map by presenting analysis and strategies. We address your needs, wants, and wishes in a coordinated approach. Saving, investing, risk-management, and tax optimization set the foundation for smooth action toward your goals. Your personal Investment Policy Statement directs the way forward.
Focus on step-by-step tasks to accomplish your goals. Regular Progress Meetings move the process forward in achievable steps, supported by your vision and values. Tax optimization, Roth conversions, to-do’s while working, to-dos in retirement, rebalancing, etc. Here, we move you to the next step in your personal plan, i.e. transitioning into retirement, or establishing an estate plan.
Optimizing income from all sources – including investments – in a tax efficient way can increase the longevity of the plan. Smart rebalancing and distributions can increase philanthropic impact while preparing for legacy objectives.
As assets are transferred between spouses and ultimately heirs, we coordinate income requirements, tax considerations, and other intentions. The goal is to positively impact the client’s wealth on the lives of others – either heirs or charity.
Copper Leaf Financial is a key player and trusted advisor to our clients in all of their financial issues, not just tax or investments.
All wealth management clients pay an on-boarding fee for the initial financial planning work required to complete the basic financial plan. All clients are required to execute an Investment Advisory Agreement. The on-boarding financial planning fee is determined at the time of engagement and is generally between $2,500 -$10,000, depending on the complexity of the client situation.
On-going wealth management services are provided on a fee-only basis and are based on a percentage of assets that Copper Leaf Financial manages according to the schedule below:
|Total Assets Under Management||Annual Fee|
|Up to $500,000||1.25%|
|$500,001 to $1,000,000||0.70%|
|$1,000,001 to $3,500,000||0.55%|
|$3,500,001 to $10,000,000||0.33%|
There is a minimum fee of $1,250 per quarter. Copper Leaf may aggregate the value of related family members’ account balances for billing purposes. All accounts for members of the client’s family (husband, wife and dependent children) or related businesses may be assessed fees based on the total household balance of all accounts. In lieu of a fee based on a percentage of assets under management, Copper Leaf may charge a flat retainer fee. This will be determined on a case-by-case basis, based on a formula which fairly reflects an equivalent to our asset-based arrangement.
