Trusted Contact Form
A trusted contact is a person (18 or older) you authorize your financial institution and/or brokerage firm to contact in certain situations involving your account — especially if there are concerns about fraud, exploitation, or mental decline.
At Copper Leaf Financial we highly recommend that our clients identify a trusted contact, even though they are not legally required to do so. Identify a trusted contact and add a layer of security to your financial information.
Here’s what a trusted contact is not:
- They don’t have access to your money.
- They can’t make transactions on your behalf.
- They aren’t given account details unless you specify.
What a trusted contact can do:
- Help your financial firm reach someone if you’re unreachable or incapacitated.
- Be contacted by your institution if:
- You show signs of confusion, memory loss, or unusual behavior.
- There are suspicious activities, like large or unusual withdrawals.
- The institution can’t reach you and needs to confirm your well-being.
